Registration and company details

Every credit provider in South Africa that falls under the National Credit Act must register with the National Credit Regulator. Here are our details and how to confirm them yourself.

Our legal entity and NCRCP number will be shown here before RandLeaf accepts any application of its own. Until then, RandLeaf does not lend in its own name, and you should not deal with anyone claiming to lend as RandLeaf. Applications through our partner link are made with the partner’s credit provider, which you can check on the same register.

RandLeaf is a brand. The credit agreement is always made with the legal entity named above, and that entity’s name and registration number appear on your quote and agreement.

How to check the NCR register

  1. Open the official register

Go to the National Credit Regulator’s register of credit providers. Type the address yourself or use this link, not one from a message.

  2. Search for the number

Search for our NCRCP number: not yet published. You can also search by company name.

  3. Compare three things

The registered name must match our legal entity, the number must match exactly, and the status should show the registration as current.

  4. Stop if anything differs

If the name, number or status doesn’t match, don’t share any details. Read how to spot an impersonator and tell us what you found.

What registration tells you, and what it doesn’t

Registration means

  • The credit provider is known to the regulator and must follow the National Credit Act
  • It must assess affordability and give you a pre-agreement quote
  • You can complain to the regulator if the provider doesn’t follow the rules

Registration doesn’t mean

  • That the regulator recommends or endorses a lender
  • That a lender is cheaper, faster or better than others
  • That your application will be approved

We don’t use the regulator’s logo as a badge on our pages. A registration number is a fact to check, not a seal of quality.

Check a partner’s credit provider the same way

Our Apply online buttons are paid partner links. On the partner’s site, the loan is offered by its own credit provider, not by RandLeaf. Its quote and agreement must name that company and its NCRCP number.

Look the number up on the NCR register before you share your ID or bank details, and compare the name, number and status exactly as described above.

No upfront fees

A registered credit provider never asks for a fee before paying out a loan. If anyone does, stop and read our security page.

Details don’t match?

Someone may be using our name. Don’t pay anything and don’t share your ID, bank details or one-time PINs. Read our security page and report it through our official contact channels.
