RandLeaf Roots programme rules

The complete rules in plain language. A short version sits next to every place we mention the benefit.

Version ROOTS-2026-10

Draft rules, not yet in force

These are the proposed rules of RandLeaf Roots, version ROOTS-2026-10. They take effect only on a start date published on this page after the operator, Finance and Legal approve them. Until then no benefit is applied.

1. Organiser and name

The programme is called RandLeaf Roots. It is run by the legal entity not yet published, the credit provider trading as RandLeaf, NCRCP number not yet published.

Where it applies

3. Who qualifies

You are a returning customer if you are 18 or older and have fully repaid at least one RandLeaf loan. A loan counts as fully repaid when the final amount owed has been received and the loan is closed, whether you paid on schedule or settled early.

The benefit is available on a new loan applied for within 24 months after your most recent RandLeaf loan was fully repaid. RandLeaf checks dates in its own records.

4. The benefit and its limits

  • The initiation fee on the new loan is reduced by R30, including any VAT, up to the full amount of the fee. The fee is never negative.
  • Interest, the service fee and any other charge are not increased to make up for the reduction.
  • The benefit has no cash value. It is not paid out, transferred or carried over to a later loan if part of it is unused.
  • The reduction is shown as a separate line in your written quote and in your agreement.

Non-money extras: a free budget planner (budget planner) and a returning-customer support topic. These don’t depend on applying for a loan.

5. Assessment still applies

The programme does not change how we assess applications. Every application is checked for identity, credit record and affordability. Being a returning customer does not guarantee approval or a higher amount.

6. When the benefit doesn’t apply

  • Your new application is declined, cancelled or withdrawn before the agreement is signed.
  • More than 24 months have passed since your last RandLeaf loan was fully repaid.
  • You have an open RandLeaf loan; one loan at a time applies.
  • Your previous loan was closed by write-off or settled for less than the amount owed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • A product has no initiation fee. In that case there is nothing to reduce, and no other money benefit replaces it unless these rules are updated.

7. Combining with other offers

Only one voluntary price benefit applies to a loan. If another promotion is available at the same time, you get whichever applicable benefit saves you more under its rules. Reductions required by law are applied first and are never presented as part of this programme.

8. Cancelling or reducing a loan

If you borrow less than you first asked for, or settle early, the benefit stays applied to that loan. If an agreement is cancelled where the law allows, the benefit falls away with it.

9. Mistakes and corrections

If the benefit should have applied and didn’t, tell us. If you haven’t signed, we correct the quote. If you have signed, we reduce the amount you owe by the missed amount, or refund it if the loan is already repaid. If the benefit was applied by mistake, we do not ask you to pay it back.

10. Questions and complaints

Ask our support team first. If you are not satisfied, follow our complaints process, which also explains where you can escalate.

11. Your information

To check eligibility we use the loan records we already hold about you, for that purpose only. Taking part doesn’t sign you up for marketing. Any marketing follows your separate choices and POPIA. Privacy notice.

12. Changes and ending the programme

We may change or end the programme by publishing a new version here with its start date before it applies. A benefit already shown in a signed agreement is not taken away by a later change.
